Viritium is a jobsite safety and workforce platform for construction. It delivers bilingual safety briefings, produces the records of those briefings, and gives a general contractor a live view of who is on their jobsite. This policy explains what information the Viritium apps and portal collect, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the Viritium app, the Viritium Worker app, and the Viritium web portal (together, the “Service”).
| Category | What it includes | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Enrollment details | Name, employer/subcontractor, trade, role, and (optional) employee ID and phone number, provided when a worker joins a jobsite. | To identify who attended a briefing and who is on a site. |
| Location (Worker app) | GPS location, accuracy, and barometric pressure — collected only while a worker is within about 300 yards of their assigned jobsite. Tracking starts on arrival and stops when they leave. | To show on-site presence on the GC’s live map and to derive on-site time. |
| Audio recordings | Recordings of safety briefings and, where the call-recording feature is used, recorded calls. | To transcribe and produce the certified safety record or call summary. |
| Briefing & survey data | Transcripts, generated records, comprehension-survey answers, and acknowledgements. | To document that a briefing occurred and was understood. |
| Device & usage | App version, device type, and basic diagnostics. | To operate and improve the Service. |
The Viritium Worker app uses location only within a geofence around the worker’s assigned jobsite (about 300 yards). Outside that boundary the app does not send location. Tracking begins automatically when a worker arrives on site and stops when they leave. Background location permission is used so tracking can continue while the phone is in a pocket during the work day. Location is shared with the worker’s GC, not sold or used for advertising.
Safety briefings and calls are recorded to produce the transcript, record, or summary that is the purpose of the Service. When a call is recorded, the platform plays an audible “this call is being recorded” notice to all parties. Users are responsible for recording only where they are permitted to do so under applicable law, including one- and two-party consent rules. The original audio is retained as the authoritative source of the record, with a cryptographic (SHA-256) fingerprint for integrity.
We do not sell personal information. Information is shared with:
Records and their source audio are retained as the GC’s safety documentation, for as long as the GC directs or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal or recordkeeping obligations. When retention is no longer required, data is deleted or de-identified.
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Records carry an audio SHA-256 digest so any tampering with the source recording can be detected. Access is limited to the applicable organization; there is no path that returns one organization’s records to another.
Workers can sign out of the Worker app, which stops location sharing, and can adjust location permissions in their device settings (note that the Service relies on location to verify on-site presence). Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Because your GC controls the data on their jobsite, please direct such requests to them; we will assist them in responding.
The Service is a workplace tool intended for construction workers and staff and is not directed to children under 16.
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
